In the last year, I have learned that the older you become, the faster life goes by. No longer do I have time to stop and smell the roses like I did when I was younger. This hold especially true since I accepted the job of ticket sales control clerk with the New York Mets baseball club. Counting money, tracking sales, and preparing daily sales figures not only requires a normal 40 hour work week, but also includes the long after hours during the games, and most times on the weekend. Not that working in sports does not have its advantages. Being around famous athletes, and reeping the benefits of free baseball - and if we're lucky enough the postseason- however its does not offer much time for a social life. I have plenty of interests, hobbies, and lessuire that I have put to the side since I started this job, but I have learned that it is simply part of life. If you'd like to learn more about who I am please visit http://home.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user&MyToken=f5685051-d40d-4663-b08b-af7670509080. One of my dearest passions has to be writing about sports. I have been writing for a magazine located out of Ronkonkoma, NY called New York Sportscene. www.nysportscene.com. The majority of what has been written has been about fantasy football. I feel if I write about baseball, it can become a conflict of interest and I do not want that to jeopardize my day job. However I started out writing for a free sports website called e-sports.com. Here on this site http://www.e-sports.com/authors/274/Matt-Chliek, you can find articles about the New York Jets, and a profile on Curtis Martin.
So, as we head toward the end of another thrilling season of Mets baseball, hopefully the next time I smell any type of roses will not be in the spring time.
